After growing up as a military brat along the east coast, David attended the University of South Carolina, graduating with Honors from the South Carolina Honors College and earning a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.  He received a commission from the United States Navy’s Officer Candidate School in Newport, RI in 2011, as a Civil Engineers Corps Officer.  While stationed at Naval Air Station Kingsville, TX, he managed over $23 million in construction projects and also directed the Requirements Branch of the Public Works Department.  Upon transfer to Amphibious Construction Battalion ONE in San Diego, CA in 2014, David deployed as detachment Officer-in-Charge and Task Force Engineer in support of Pacific Partnership 2015, responsible for planning and executing humanitarian assistance construction projects in Kiribati, Federated States of Micronesia, Solomon Islands, the Philippines, and Vietnam.
In the fall of 2016, David transferred from active duty service to pursue a Master’s in Transportation Systems Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology.  His interests are in transportation planning and infrastructure management.  David is also pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration through Georgia Tech’s Scheller College of Business. Outside the office and classroom he enjoys golf, brewing and going on adventures with his wife, Lizzie.
